Rum and ganja in Gokarna and parties in Bangalore.
Hello from Bangalore!
We came here from Gokarna, Kudle beach by bus. It was sleeping dorm bus and I got slept well. Even if I had shared bed with one Indian guy we met at Gokarna bus station.
I stayed Gokarna for nine nights. There were off season. It was weird experience. I felt bit I had no really best time of my life there. But still stayed for nine nights. Why?
Service wasn't extremely friendly. Food was also affected by lack of passion. Maybe the most depressing element were people talking all the time about how there's nothing now when it's off season.
I couldn't find people doing anything else than eating banana nutella pancakes, drinking rum or whiskey, smoking weed/hash and sometimes walking on the beach.
Don't know if it's really true or not. But I found myself telling story to me about so boring place there's nothing to do but staying in a hut writing.
Of course it is true as much as it is not.
I don't know yet. Affection or even reasons of our actions is sometimes difficult to analyse. Sometimes the truth comes out after years if even then. That is mainly because most of our behaviour comes from subconscious did we like it or not. We can tell all kind of stories and explain our behaviour afterwards. But at the end it doesn't matter at all. Dust we gonna all be.
"Is it ok if I take my shirt of?", he asked immediately when the bus left the station.
"Yeah, sure."
And then we slept. Me and almost naked Indian guy in a double bed.
But everything ended up well, as always.
First sight of Bangalore was green and damp. Locals said it's city of garden.
We had South-Indian traditional breakfast, dosas and idli. They're both rice based dishes. Dosa is rice pancake and idli more like a ricecake. Common is that both are served with coconut chutney and lens sambar. So technically it's rice pancake or rice cake with very tasty sauces.

One morning we walked on the top of the hill next to beach. Because damp air after 10 minutes walk all our clothes were completely wet. Beautiful place eh'.
Queen/king of the beach.
Crish. Guy I met in a train on my way to Gokarna. He's from England and lived in India for 27 years. He speaks 4 different Indian language. Very interesting person. Picture from his morning routine: rum.

We arrived here in Bangalore yesterday morning. Bangalore is over 8 million people city and it's described me as international business and technology city with lot of pubs and active nightlife.
Wikipedia says that Bangalore is an important part of Indian economy with its 47,2 billion US dollar annual revenue.
You can arrive here by bus, train or flight.
Bars and nightclubs closes their doors at 1 AM or 1:30 AM but there's possibly private parties available after that.
So we came with sleeping dorm bus and I had shared bed with a guy we just met at bus station.

We had booked hostel from Banglore day before arrival. It was 7,5$ and it was near cheapest that you could find. Place is called Locul.Uptown and feels like it's in a safe neighbourhood. There's embassy buildings and lot of security staff out there.
We met with two Israeli guys in hostel and decided to go for dinner together to one brewery restaurant. With two Israelis, two Indians, one US and one Finn this time. We were also gonna take few beers. The place was called Arbor Brewing Company.
There were maybe eight different kind of beers including wheat and indian pale ale. I took a pizza and two beers. Both were good and I can easily recommend the place for having good evening with friends. Prizes were decent, from 3$ to 4,5$ for pint. For pizza I paid maybe 4$.
After that we changed place and I started to sleep after third beer. Others were also ready to go so we did.
Next day I met Polish yoga teacher at breakfast in our guesthouse. We decided to go for lunch together and I also tried yoga lesson at evening first time ever. It was nice. Stretching and relaxing. Still have to say as a sports I like ball games more.
While we were doing yoga lesson, Israeli guys were making dinner to everyone at the guesthouse. There were at least seven different kind of veg dishes and it was all really delicious.
After dinner everyone went to do their things. Some went balcony to smoke and rest layed on sofa just scrolling their Instagram feeds. Those are the most popular activities in every guesthouse I've been.
I still stayed in table with yoga teacher and after while we decided to go for small walk outside. We washed the dishes and left the house.
We were about to see amusement park nearby. It was already closed but maybe we could pass it and see what's out there.
It was dark night and for some reason I was very awake. There's 8 million people in Bangalore and not everyone is very rich. There's countless number of people sleeping next to streets under tarps. Lot of shady corners between the human built concrete and wild brushes and trees. They gives nice spots for some crosseyed junkie criminals to ambush unsuspecting tourist.
But no robberies out there this evening.
And no entrance to see the amusement park either. There were just closed gate and security guy telling us not to go there.
"No can do", we thought, and decided to go back to the hostel. By other direction from which we came.
Yoga teacher spotted a park left side of us. There were green plants, flowers, lights and also open gates with a sign "Mira".
She headed through the gates and I followed.
It was a beautiful place with all different kind of flowerish smells.
Little further there were also crowd of dogs. At least nine piece of them. We changed other side of the road and for tiny suprise they were very calm when passed them. Maybe they knows their position.
We faced few walking guys and two cars. What place is this? Feels weird.
Until we've walked for a while throught the flower park the lights in front of us started to sparkle more intensive. Behind the trees we saw white buildings and purple lights. And a parking area. Near the buildings we could also spot human characters.
"Mira, Welcome" -sign were next to the path which lead to the buildings. Path was built from flat stone tiles but other parts were healthy loking clean-cut grass. What is this place? Restaurant? Private party?
Band was carrying their instruments towards the parking lot.
There's bar on the right maybe 50 meters away. And people serving food on the left side.
We slowly walked for left building. It looked like aquarium. Only white pillars kept roof on wide and high glass made walls. The place was crowded with well dressed celebrators.
"What is this? Let's ask from someone."
I asked from first guy we met that what's going on here.
"Private party. For baby born"
Private party, that's what we assumed. We understood that Mira was the name of the baby.
We peeped inside and there were real food festival going on.
Yoga teacher told that she's been in Indian wedding and at least in wedding anyone is allowed to get in and join the party.
There were people all around outside also. We spoke that it's not even a party if there's no uninvited guests.
Should we still just go back?
No, let's ask what's the name of the game in baby parties.
I went to group of five guys sitting next to building and asked.
"You can go in, no problem", they said.
At this point world forced me to laugh. Situation was bit absurd. We were entering Mira babys' born party. Everyone else had evening dresses or suits and we had... traveller clothes. And there were no western people. Zero.
We slowly slowly took steps towards huge glass walled building and stared everything with real curiosity.
The first dishes were served outside in front of the building. There were small vegetable balls fried in oil and served with chili sauce and some veg which remended me about onion. It was weird. But good! Very tasty.
Just few meters from that table they were cooking dosa and idli. Anywhere we went the cooks waved us to taste everything so we did.
We entered inside of aquarium looking building and still felt little bit like "Is it really ok that we are here..."
But not for long time. Immediately we got in the waiters took the situation in control. They walked us to table and started to bring all kind of unbelievable tasty foods in front of us. All the time they were so worried if everything was ok for us. We were served like gods.
There were own pop up kitchens for Chinese, Japanese, north- and south Indian, healthy veg food, desserts and pizza. And everything was super tasty.
We felt like being in some fancy fairytale.
Just few days before leaving Finland my friend mentioned phrase I finally found perfect moment to use:
"Too much is never enough."
After tasting all these dishes for Miras' birth we were ready to leave.
What can I say. World is weird place.
And India.
There's few advantages in travelling alone. Changin plans completely to other direction on air is one of them.
And the best thing travelling alone is that you never have to travel alone if you don't want to. Most of the time someone is going to same direction.
I really like this travelling thing.

Looking for sponsors for new camera...

Pizza-guy. The bottom of pizza was black. He said theres used carbon. Have you ever heard about that?
Desserts. Every dessert in India had been too sweet until this. All the flavours were balanced. Recipes going from father to son, from mother to daughter.
Event culminated to photo session on whole kitchen crew.
After tasting all these dishes for Miras' birth we were ready to leave.
